Exclusive: MobLand season 2 to film at Ealing Studios

Paramount+ series, MobLand, starring Tom Hardy and Helen Mirren, is set to film its second season at the newly expanded and renovated Ealing Studios.

This is a major coup for the London-based studios, which recently added a brand new 14,000 square feet net zero carbon stage to its existing four stages, offering 37,000 square feet in total.

A production start date for the second season is yet to be announced, but several production and location sources confirmed the show will be based at Ealing studios, and will likely use the new stage.

The revamped studios also offer new workshops and additional office space, and are ideally located with easy access to central London, including via the new Elizabeth Line - just 15 minutes to Bond Street - and Heathrow airport also 15 minutes away.

Other popular TV series to film at the studios include Lockwood & Co, Black Mirror, Last Night in Soho and Devs.

Paramount announced in June this year that it will be renewing MobLand for a second season following the huge success of the first season, released in March, which became the second most watched show on the Paramount+ streaming platform.

Paramount's co-CEO Chris McCarthy called it a "resounding triumph" and that he was "elated to greenlight a second season."

The first season filmed all over London, including at The Midland Grand at the St Pancras Hotel, Charing Cross, LouLou’s in Mayfair, Canning Town, the Isle of Dogs, as well as at Hemel Hempstead Hospital and in Gloucestershire.

Executive produced by Guy Ritchie and also starring Pierce Brosnan and Paddy Considine, MobLand tells the story of two mob families, the Harrigans and the Stevensons, who clash in a major gang war that threatens to topple empires and ruin lives. In the crossfire stands Harry Da Souza (Hardy), a street-smart ‘fixer’.

The show was created and written by Ronan Bennett and Jez Butterworth who both serve as executive producers, alongside Hardy, Ritchie,  Keith Cox, Nina L. Diaz, Glasser, Kris Thykier, Ivan Atkinson, Dean Baker, Anthony Byrne, Ron Burkle, David Hutkin, and Bob Yari.

The series is commissioned by Paramount+, produced in association with MTV Entertainment Studios and 101 Studios and distributed by Paramount Global Content Distribution.
